This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Day0Dev ("we", "us", "our") collects through our website, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to answer your enquiries.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Day0Dev, La Sabana, San José, Costa Rica. Contact for privacy matters: [email protected]
2. What data we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The message you write
Information we generate. When you submit the form, we create a reference number and record the date and time of your submission. We include both in the confirmation email.
Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically process basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and request time) in server logs to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use this data to identify you or to profile you.
We use Sentry to report technical errors and check website availability. Reports may include error details, page paths, browser/runtime information, and a contact submission reference, but our monitoring configuration excludes contact-form contents, email addresses, cookies, request bodies, and authentication headers. We do not use session recordings, behavioral analytics, or advertising tracking. Please don't include sensitive information (passwords, payment details, ID numbers) in your message.
3. Why we use your data
- To respond to your enquiry. We use your name, email, and message to read and answer what you sent us.
- To confirm receipt. We send you an automatic email confirming your message was received, including a copy of it.
- To keep the site secure and working. We use technical data to prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations, if the law requires it.
Legal basis. We process your data because you ask us to contact you (your consent and steps taken at your request before entering into a contract), and because we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our website. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, this is the basis we rely on under GDPR/UK GDPR.
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal data or use it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us operate, and only as needed:
- Resend, our email delivery provider, which sends the confirmation email to you.
- Our email provider, where the messages from the contact form are received and stored.
- Our hosting provider, which serves the website.
- Sentry, our technical error and availability monitoring provider, which receives limited diagnostic reports rather than contact-form contents.
These providers process data on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose data if required by law or a competent authority.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside Costa Rica, including in the United States. By using the contact form, you understand that your data may be processed in those countries. We choose providers that apply reasonable security and data protection safeguards.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your contact messages until you ask us to delete them. If a conversation turns into a client engagement, information needed for that engagement is handled under the contract we sign with you. To request deletion at any time, write to [email protected].
7. Your rights
Under Costa Rican law (Ley 8968, Ley de Protección de la Persona frente al Tratamiento de sus Datos Personales) and, where applicable, GDPR/UK GDPR, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, where the law gives you that right.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format, where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may ask you to verify your identity, and we'll reply within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.
If you believe we haven't handled your data properly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. In Costa Rica, that is the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB). We'd appreciate the chance to fix the issue first.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Our website is intended for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you think a minor has sent us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Cookies
The site only uses strictly necessary cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date when we do, and for significant changes we'll make that clear on the site.
